Small Edition Watercolor Prints

The journey to creating “Calligraforms” started in 2018, 8 years after immigrating from Iran to the United States. I terribly missed home where the language sounded sweet and the gestures seemed familiar. I was missing something that I could not quite articulate in words, in Persian or English, so a new visual language came to be.

The first iteration of calligraforms are created from x-ray and MRI imagery sheets that my family procured for our immigration documentations. The juxtaposition of the hard edges of the imagery and rigorous immigration process gave way to a new visual language.
